A Bridge over Life's dark Canyons

We're stepping out now on the new day we're living,
Finding fun in not counting the get in the giving.
A clean slate is available due to forgiving,
Trickling through us from Father of all.

Keeping what we've gained by timely reminders,
Gives out new joy like that of lost-finders,
Let go of what's been, but don't put on blinders,
Holding trusted hands may thwart a fall.

So using our gifts and those of companions,
We'll negotiate life's steeps and its canyons,
The result in God's hands, the action we plan on;
Better to build a bridge than a wall.
