Old Man Winter resists Mother Spring's return
Guided wheels in gathering snow,
eyes guided through wind-driven veil,
shelter though the wind may blow,
trust, following the obscured trail.
This is winter out of sync,
returning just as spring seems real,
ever, becoming what we think,
obstruction or good time's appeal.
Snow to shovel from the drive,
snow to make a place for skis.
It's really good to be alive,
when focusing on both of these.
