The Fleeting Moments of Dawn

I woke in dark, the hours long.
How would time pass until the day?
Suddenly, light bright and strong,
Shines on tasks that direct my day.

The day was bright; the night had passed,
Like a bolt out of the blue.
A blink, a doze, it went so fast,
The hours short, so much to do.
