Serendipity's Grand Design

You treasured words that I would say;
took pleasure in my smile,
affirmed my efforts although they
were less than grand in style.

I saw such wondrous things in you;
your eyes expressed so much.
I marveled at how much you knew,
your strong, yet gentle touch.

Surprising we would, side by side,
from different ways we came,
you'd be the groom and I the bride,
amazing last refrain.
