It’s a Matter of Spelling

An explosive device is called a bomb;
A bombe is a dessert so sweet.
While one disturbs the peace and calm,
The other bids you, “Come, share, eat.”

One, by hand with gauntlet gloved.
Threatens to oust the enemy.
The other, entreating the one loved,
Served with style by the maitre de

The bombe may accidentally tempt
The very one you see with fear.
The bomb may drive away, exempt
The one that you tend to hold dear.

In any case it’s best discern,
Would you want to disturb the calm?
So think, when you “spell” out this turn,
Have you dropped a bomb or ” bombe” ?
