In Touch Across the Miles

Through the ages, sweethearts, far apart,
have gazed upon the moon at given times,
knowing that the one dear to their heart
views it, too, as in night's sky it climbs.

The celestial dipper, North Star, or Orion
provide a touchpoint for their sharing thought,
and miles seem less between the spots they lie on,
as through the sky the view of it is caught.

Still, miles apart for sweethearts are a hindrance,
and, still, it's through the realms of space they look,
and find a touchpoint more easily distinguished,
meeting on My Space, Twitter, or Facebook.
