Begin each Day Anew
Let's gladly greet the morning bright,
with cobwebs of sleep brushed away,
and images so vague at night
give place to things to do today.
Address our Father, who has kept
us safe through angels close at hand,
with peace and gradual growth we slept;
now take our place in action's land.
Speak that our loved ones well may fare,
or entertain a timely laugh,
remembering joys are doubled shared
and sorrows are reduced to half.
And, so a work I try to do,
I'll preview and prepare to send,
and later forward it to you,
with hope it says what I intend.
