A Pure Heart's Playful Journey
I feel these little sassy ways
springing up in me.
I don't want to see rebellion, raise
a wall, Lord, 'tween You and me.
Just, please, give wisdom to discern
what's playful, joyous fun
and what offends or tends to turn
from You, beloved One.
Your humor, I elect to see,
Your love for mirthsome ways.
I hope that playfulness and glee
will add, not hinder praise.
And, so I ask, a heart that's pure.
May it still jaunty be?
So, by Your grace, I may secure,
Your presence, close, with me.
