A Joke, A Smile evokes

I don't see nothing like a joke,
nothing to a smile evoke.
Is your mind in another place?
Hope there's a smile upon your face.

In the absence of all that,
I'll just tuck into my hat.
the smile I 'd smile, the chuckle, chuckle,
and just make it with white knuckle.
